About LagoMaggiore
We are so excited to have you join us in beautiful Lago Maggiore. Located in northern Italy near the Swiss border, it’s a dreamy mix of sparkling blue water, traditional Italian villas, and mountain views that feel straight out of a fairytale. Maggiore is a hidden gem, loved by European travelers for its relaxed charm, scenic views, and timeless lakeside ease.
The lakeside town of Stresa — where our accommodations and additional wedding events will take place — sits right along the shores of Lago Maggiore and is filled with charming streets, lively cafes and restaurants, and close proximity to the Borromean Islands.
Airport
We recommend flying into Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) — about 45–60 minutes by car to Lake Maggiore. It’s the most convenient route to reach the area, with beautiful views as you approach the lake!
Pro tip: Once you know the dates you plan to travel, set a Google Flights alert - you’ll get an email when your flight drops in price.
Please note: your passport cannot expire within 6 months of your return travel dates.
Hotels
Our recommended hotels are all conveniently located along the main street in the town of Stresa - steps from one another and close to the best restaurants, bars, and ferry transportation. Each has been personally tested and loved by us.
Hotel La Palma
Home to the Sky Rooftop Bar and infinity pool, this lively hotel is where we’ll host our Welcome Party!
Vibe: Modern and well-priced, with plenty of spots to grab a spritz, swim, and soak in the beautiful lake views.

Grand Hotel Des Iles Borromées
If you’re looking for a true Italian, vintage experience, we highly recommend splurging and staying here. The concierge service, hotel restaurant, and cocktail bar with live jazz were some of our highlights.
Vibe: Grand halls, old-world charm, and classic Italian elegance. Note: It’s traditional Italian style, meaning not every room has ultra-modern amenities.

Hotel Regina Palace
Another beautiful, traditional Italian experience! Known for its grand halls, serene pool and gardens, and live music that fills the lobby each evening.
Vibe: Castle-like architecture in classic Italian style. Again, please note this is traditional Italian style so amenities will not be ultra modern.

The newest and most luxurious hotel in Stresa - perfect if you’re looking to completely unwind and treat yourself. With a spa, private massage rooms, new gym, stunning rooftop bar and restaurant overlooking the lake, it’s the ultimate spot to relax and indulge in style.

We don’t recommend staying at an Airbnb, as we found the concierge services and hospitality at the hotels to be incredibly helpful - especially for local recommendations, setting up transportation for taxis and ferries, and overall ease.
